The Grace of God through Christ <> Philippians 4: 20-23

Thinking of God's abundant provisions causes Paul to break out in praise. This should be every child of God's response, who experience God's gracious care, not only the supply of material needs, but also providing guidance, help against temptation, & the quickening of a daily devotional life.

Thinking of the believers as they are gathered together & listening to the letter which he was writing to them. Paul greets every saint in Christ Jesus & sends greetings from the brothers who are with him.

We are compelled to love this verse for its reference to Caesar's household. Our imaginations are strongly tempted to run wild. Who are the members of Nero's household referred to here? Were they soldiers who were assigned to watch the Apostle Paul, & who had been saved through his ministry? Were they slaves of freedom who worked in the palace? Or might they be officials of the Roman Government? We cannot know with certainty, but here we have an illustration of the truth that Christians, like spiders, find their way into the king's palace (Proverbs 30:28). The Gospel knows no boundaries! It can penetrate the most forbidding places. It can plant itself in the midst of those who are trying to exterminate it. Truly & surely, the gates of Hades shall not prevail against the church of Jesus Christ.

Now Paul closes this book or letter with his characteristic greeting. Grace sprinkled on the first page of this letter, & is now found again at it's close. Out of the abundance of a man's heart, his mouth speaks. Paul's heart was filled to overflowing with the greatest theme of all the age <> the Grace of God through Christ <> & it is not at all surprising that this precious truth should flood over every channel of his life.

Conclusion: The greatest of humans has written his warmest letters. The love-task is finished. The day is done. The chain is still there upon the Apostles wrist. The soldier is still on guard. Never mind! Paul's spirit is free! His mind is clear! His heart is glowing!

Can you be like Paul today full of joy & enthusiasm, ready to face what ever comes you way, with the help of the Lord?
